The assignment was to celebrate a famous
person that has made a mark in the graphic design history. In my case Josef
Müller-Brockmann. An eminent character within the so-called SWISS STYLE and the
creator of the grid system.
I
started to study his work and began to understand what he stood for and how he
wanted graphical design element to be presented. With a 20-grid field system
and his way of thinking about how different element should be placed in
graphical expressions I created these two posters, with my own personal touch
and illustrations.
The
idea was to keep as much of Josef´s structure from his grid system but at the
same time incorporate a slightly different placement of elements. And use my
own illustrations seen on the black poster and on the bottom of the poster split
into four.
